About Us

Established in 2018, Just Like Home Adult Day Center is proud to serve our local Michigan areas which include: Ionia, Belding, Grand Ledge, Greenville, Lansing, Pewamo, Portland, Saranac, Sheridan, Stanton, Lyons, and Lowell. We are a premier adult day care center catering to the unique needs of seniors in the community, as well as physically and cognitively impaired individuals 18 and above. We specialize in providing a warm and welcoming environment that offers individual needs and preferences. Our center offers many activities and resources such as games like cards, bingo, and floor hockey; guided and independent exercise sessions; nutritious snacks and on-site lunch preparation; a beauty salon; showers for client use; medication administration; reading materials; emotional support animals; and creative crafts. Additionally, we organize outings to local attractions to keep our clients active and connected. Our facility is also available for rental, making it an ideal venue for gatherings and special events. At Just Like Home, we strive to create a supportive and stimulating atmosphere that truly feels like a second home for all our guests.

Just Like Home is an awesome place for adults with disabilities of all ages. My daughter, Kara, loves her days there. The games, parties and crafts are adapted fit every client and their skills. No one has to be left out. They serve an excellent lunch too. Tracy and the staff all go out of their way to make Kara's experiences there exactly what she needs. The love they have for each of their clients shows.

What is an Adult Day Center?

o An adult day center is a non-residential, daytime program designed to provide supervised care for functionally impaired or disabled adults and seniors. These centers offer a safe, supportive environment where participants can socialize, engage in structured activities, and access health and therapeutic services in a community setting.
o Adult day centers not only enhance the quality of life for participants but also offer essential support to their caregivers—giving them time to work, rest, or attend to other responsibilities with peace of mind.

What types of activities are offered?

We offer a wide variety of engaging activities designed to promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical wellness. These include group games, card playing, gardening, arts and crafts, BINGO, reading sessions, both guided and independent exercise, holiday celebrations, outdoor activities, field trips, and more. Activities are thoughtfully tailored to accommodate various levels of ability and interest, ensuring that every participant can take part in a meaningful and enjoyable way.

What Adult Day Center model is Just Like Home?

Just Like Home Adult Day Center is considered a medical model adult day center. A medical model adult center offers the social, recreational, and nutritional services of a traditional social model, while also providing skilled medical supervision. It's designed for individuals with chronic conditions, dementia, or those needing help with daily activities.

Is insurance accepted at your facility?

While our adult day program is not covered by traditional insurance, we partner with several Medicaid waiver programs that may provide assistance for those who qualify. Please contact Just Like Home for more information.

Is transportation provided?

Transportation may be available based on the client’s location and schedule, with an additional fee in some cases. Please contact the center for details.

Can the center be used for private events?

Yes! While Monday through Friday during business hours the center serves as a welcoming space for adults to socialize and engage in activities, it is also available as an event rental space outside of business hours. Perfect for celebrations, gatherings, and community events, our venue offers a warm and accessible environment for your special occasion.
